New Costume

   I haven't had an entry on this yet because I didn't want to say anything I would regret later, but now I think I have a full understanding of my feelings for Ms. Marvel's transformation in Captain Marvel. I hate it. Now, don't get me wrong. I LOVE that she is returning into the MU. I love me some Carol Danvers; that being said, I hate the new haircut.

   I mean, look at it. It doesn't fit. It doesn't fit at all. Short hair isn't Carol. It's not that I don't like short hair or anything, I'm not hairist. Carol is an intelligent, beautiful, sarcastic woman. I have always known her with long hair (except a few airforce days) and that is how I see her. I hate this hair because I don't find the cut sexy, and to me Carol is a very sexy character. That is not the biggest deal breaker for me, though. If the hair looked good with her costume . . .

   But it doesn't. It looks so lackluster. It's almost like walking into a room that smells like cake and not finding any cake -- disappointing. 

   Alright, so let me put something out there. I'm sure the hair can be seen a feminist move. Not all women need long hair. If so, then Marvel deserves an A+. She is also fully clothed with integration of her Starburst costume, Warbird, and even some military stuff to show her airforce side. Obviously the costume isn't practical in any real way other than making be jealous of her muscle tone, but the fact remains is that she is breaking the modern female superhero more. I can be pissed that Carol's hair looks bad until the cows come home, but the fact is that very few fem supers look like this. That is something to respect . . . even though her hair is bad.
