PCC 2015!

Hello People!!

I went to Planet Comicon this year- again! This time, unlike last year, I went for two days. We were supposed to go all three days, but because of scheduling issues (my bf couldn’t get out of class until 3, and the drive is 2+ hours… blah) we were unable to attend Friday. I had planned my class schedule to allow for the con, but my bf was unable to do that. Oh well.

So, our day began on Saturday morning. I was dressed as May from the ORAS Pokemon games. It was a throwback to one of my very first cosplays: May from PKMN Sapphire and May from PKMN Emerald. My new was much better made, but since I’m still a sewing newbie—it’s not perfect in any way!

There are a lot of issues with the costume, that I can see, but I think it worked really well and I got a few photos from nice people. There were also a lot of great cosplayers. I didn’t get a photo with many of them, but it was eye candy to see. I saw a Ms. Marvel, for example, but she was walking really fast and looked busy. :(

Here's a nice guy who grabbed me for a photo! I loved his TM cosplay.

Cosplaying aside, the convention was much less crowded than it was last year. The event had opened up way more space for the vendor/artist alley areas, and there was an improved queue line for entry. This made it A LOT easier and less stressful to navigate than last year. That isn’t to say the con was busy. It was. We had to take a break at one point because I was getting crowd anxiety which can put me in a bitchy mood. Like, I get really close to yelling “MOVE FASTER. OUT OF MY WAY. SHIT.” Which isn’t nice or effective at getting through an area.

My boyfriend and I did a bit of shopping, and saw a lot of art we wanted to buy. We couldn’t buy everything, so we had to settle on just a couple of pieces. Below are the links to both of the artist's sites. They are awesome!!

We only attended one panel on Saturday, the Ming-Na Wen Agents of Shield Q&A panel. I feel like it had a better title, but I can’t find my brochure right now. I really loved seeing Ms. Wen, and she is just as sweet and charismatic in real life as she seems on Twitter and Instagram. I did want to get a photo with her, but I ran out of cash before that point. There is no such thing as frugality when it comes to creator art prints and merch in my book.

Sunday was a little slower, but we still went around to all the vendors again to check pricing and dig for more back issues. I ended up getting some Bakemonogatari cards, Skottie Young's daily sketches book, and couple other comics and such. We were pretty tired and really just window shopped for a few hours.

Again, we only attended one panel. This one was called Marvel: Your Universe, or something. CB Celbuski, Skottie Young, Dennis Hopeless, Jason Aaron, Jason LaTour, and Sam Humphries were all in attendance. It was a good Q&A panel, and my bf even got to ask a question. Though, it was mistaken by Humphries and ended up getting my bf super embarrassed. Not his fault, though.

My boyf asking his question!

My cosplay for Sunday was Mirai from Beyond the Boundary. I got it online, and the sizing was bit off so I had to wear a suffocating sports bra and even more suffocating shapewear to fit in the uniform part.

Now for the sad part of Comicon. So. My Facebook friends and family loved the Mirai costume a lot. More than my May one, and they were very vocal about it. While I do understand that they meant no real harm, it does suck that I worked super hard on May and it was only okay. But, I bought this thing for over $60 and it was adored. It sucks. That's it, plain and simple. I know I am not good at sewing yet, but it's really disheartening.

Obviously, I'm still going to work hard on sewing to become awesome it. I just feel sort of sad that the one I worked my ass off on was second fiddle to the one I simply purchased.

Anyway! The convention was super fun, and I highly suggest you attend if you are in the Kansas City area next May!

Skinny Teatox: The Verdict

Hey, everyone!

I think I decide about once a year that I am going to keep this thing updated, but I never hold true to it. I always get busy and bogged down with school work and forget about this thing. Then, any free time I have I try to spend playing video games—I have a lot to play. Of course, here I am again to do my best to make this up and update as regularly as I possibly can!

Well, recently I wanted to get rid of some of this bulge I have acquired through years of ice cream and milky coffee drinks. I do work out a lot each (usually around 5 times a week), but I've reached a plateau in the past few months. I can’t seem to drop any more inches or even centimeters! And, I totally have some to lose. I did some research and found Skinny Teatox. There are other versions of this tea from different sites and sellers, but it all seems to be about the same (from what I read).

I got the two week teatox. During the two weeks, I did my best to eat healthier than usual: no sodas, sweets, or greasy foods. It was very difficult since I’m a college kid, and we can’t afford nice, fresh, healthy food all time. I was able to get stocked up on some things at Aldi, but at times we would have to go out for a salad at Subway or Arby’s. It was really hard at the end when I had started my period, and was angry and hungry for all the foods.

Other than eating better, I did workout the same amount: five days a week. I found myself exhausted at the end of each week, though, possibly due to the tea’s effects. The morning tea is supposed to give you energy and boost your metabolism, and it possibly did that. However, the night tea gave me horrible cramps that would wake me up between 3 and 6 AM. The crams didn’t necessarily mean that I had to poop, either. Sometimes it was just depilating pain. I would have the cramps periodically throughout the day, and when I did poop it was an emergency- and it hurt a lot. A lot.

The tea itself was pretty good. I usually drink green tea in the morning, so the morning tea replaced that routine for two weeks. The morning tea tastes a lot like green tea, but a little fruitier. The night tea tastes great as well, and it has a peppermint-tea taste to it. You drink the night tea every-other-night before bed.

Through it all, I managed to lose ½ an inch (at best, most days the measure was exactly the same). I can’t comment on my weight because we don’t own a scale, but I’ll be weighing myself at a friend’s house when I go up to KC in a week for KC ComicCon. I can update this after I weigh myself there. Now, the biggest difference was the bulge. It’s all gone. My tummy is flatter and I’m less round because all that nasty, chubby bloating is gone!

Was it worth it? I mean, really? Was it worth the pain? Would I do it again? No. I have another option you can use that a friend did that didn’t cause her pain and she had amazing results in only ten days. I’ll give you the link to it if you want. I know I’ll be doing that one next semester or even this summer.

Have a good day!!

Sky Shops!

I've made myself a promise to be regular with this blog and so far I really suck. But, here we go again. This time: I've gone shopping- and I totally shouldn't have. I really don’t have the money for it.

Anyway, I used the site Rosegal to order some Korean/Japanese fashion items. It’s one of those oddly cheap sites that have free shipping. Which means it’s foreign and the clothes are either made in a sweatshop or they are made extremely cheap.  I took a gamble because some of the clothes are really cute, and I’m very happy with my purchases.

Let's start with that very blue sweatshirt. It's very cute, but a little tight in my hips since I'm an American.

It's very warm and super comfortable. The quality of the fabric is good, too. Now there was this little band that straps around your neck- so I removed it. It didn't look good in my opinion. Other than that, I really love this sweatshirt, and I can't wait until it's not 90 degrees outside.

The black sweater is my favorite piece by far. The arms are a little short, though. It's a very warm sweater, and it fits well on like every other part of me. It's totally a keeper.

This was a long sleeve shirt I ordered as well. It's a little tight, but according to the photo that was to be expected. I will have to wear something under it because you can totally see my bra.

Finally this open-shoulder shirt. It looked about 80x cuter on the model than on me. Even when I tried to see what it looked like on me without the tails, the arms were too tight (I've got giant guns, y'know). This sucks because the material was so super soft. It was like feeling the paws of a kitten.

So basically what I wanted to do here was not only show off my rocking bod, but also show that Rosegal isn't that bad of a site. They have so many negative reviews. While I can't say that those people are overreacting, I do have to say that I had an overall good experiencing and will order from them again.

I'm Mad I Can't Be Friends With Bros.

So, I have a problem to sift to the surface of life. Like a real issue I have. This is the second time it’s happened while I have attended this school as well.

Guys will not be my friend if I tell them I have boyfriend because that means they can’t fuck me. Now, where did I get this crazy notion? I’m not a man-hater, in fact I’m a man-fan. Though, I do prefer to draw women…

Anyway- that’s off topic. The issue is that twice while I have attended Pitt State I have had two potential male friends. This is a big deal because I have like two close friends (three including my boyfriend). Each time I got really excited to have a new, possible buddy. And each time it’s just ended because I tell them I have a boyfriend.

And the issue is that I have a boyfriend. So, exhibit A: TJ was a kid I met in my managerial accounting class. He was a nice guy, not very smart with paying attention and coming to class, but a nice person. While talking with him the first time he asked for my number. I told him it was only to be used to school purposes, like homework help and such, and not to get any ideas since I do have a boyfriend. He wasn’t too keen on the second part. He did keep talking to me, but when I told him he needed to pay attention and come to class more he stopped talking to me. Even started trying to sit far away from me (we had assigned seating- so just imagine that). I grew to dislike the kid because of this attitude, so this falling out didn’t really affect me that much.

Then this semester happened.

I have business statistics class I take every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 10 AM. The class isn’t bad so far because the professor is very enthusiastic. She really makes it fun to attend, though it’s only the second week.

Anyway, this guy sat next me the first day. His name was Nicholas. He was little douchey, but hey. It seems to be her personality, so whatevs. Now, he was really needy. The entire class he was asking things about me, and this would have been fine IF WE WERE NOT IN CLASS. The professor is trying to tell us things, and I have this guy trying to see if I will go drinking with him. He asked for my number, which I provided. I didn’t use any stipulations this time because I felt this was my downfall last semester.

Turns out we had to next class together as well. He kept texting me during that class because he knew he couldn’t talk. But, I didn’t have my phone out and he kept saying “did you get my text?” Omigosh. I was getting so annoyed, but I tried not to show it. I was getting worried he thought I was interested, so I was able to work in that I have a boyfriend during a later conversation. Then the texting pretty much stopped. He said three more things, and then it was done. Like fuck, dude.

Now, it’s not like I’m super sad I don’t get a new friend. I’m upset, pissed even, that I lost a potential friend because I am not sexually achievable. And he legit is not sitting near me any longer. And isn’t talking to me either.

These two stories bring me to my main, which I have already emphasized, is why can’t have male friends who don’t want to sex me? I know every guy can’t be like this. I know because I have male friends who are still my friends, before and while I’ve had my boyfriend. It’s obviously a new development.

I guess I feel angry about the whole situation, and that’s really all. I’m out.

He Would Lose

I found this on the internet the other day. I can't stop laughing. I think about it often. Enjoy this.

My bae be sleepin'.

But seriously, I love this cat. She can be a total dick sometimes. I totally accept it at the end of day since she's so cute.

Let's Do This Thing.

Welp, summer got in the way so I, obviously, haven’t been able to keep up with this whole blog. It’s like I keep failing at keeping it regular since I have moved back to Kansas. I really don’t understand what my problem it, but this semester (at least) I will be making regular updates. My brain thinks that once a week would be feasible. So, let’s find out!

A lot of crazy things have happened since finals week of last semester. My boyfriend and I hit up Six Flags St. Louis. And pretty much conquered the park in three hours after having a terrible start (my shoe broke, they didn’t have bag cubbies on the rides like at other parks, etc).

Best ride in the park feat. BF

After that crazy time we adopted my old cat from my dad. Then my dad got in a motorcycle accident and basically broke both of his ankles and his dislocated his elbow. And now I am paying for both of our phone bills plus all of my other crazy bills.

So, it’s been a wreck of a summer, but school starts up again soon. Here’s to hoping it’s not a bad semester!

Now, I’m not here to whine about my day to the two people who may or may not read this. I’m here to tell you about all the stupid shit I get into. Today’s edition is the My Little Pony IOS/Android game.

A clip from the middle of my Ponyville

This game is freaking addicting and awesome. I really do not like mobile gaming. I try it over and over with each new “big” game, but I can’t stand them. They are boring and just not what I’m looking for. My Little Pony is an exception. I can’t put it down. So much so I have practically abandoned my Vita and 3DS- I feel so bad. It’s also a great game because I can play it, with minimal real interaction like other games) while I’m working these terrible eight and a half hour shifts.

What you do in this game is basically build the towns and do quests. Eventually you’ll complete the area, but there are other areas and the developers release new areas with each update (from what I have read).

Now, this game is just like most of the other IOS games out there, in that there are in app purchases that make getting items 10x easier- but they cost real money. Be prepared to play until at least level 50 to get Rainbow Dash who is a pricey 65 gems. Ponies and needed stores cost gems, so don’t waste these precious commodities.

It’s not the best game on IOS because it glitches terribly, often, and in odd ways.

But hey, it’s free and it has offered me more hours of mindless clicking than Flyff has in a while. Go get it and enjoy the crap out of this ponyriffic game.

I mean, look how cute these guys are!
