I finally got around to watching Midnight in Paris, and boy did that make my night. It was such a
great movie all around – especially the acting. Ohmygoodgracious. I
was so taken aback by each scene in the 20's. Tom Hiddleston played a
wonderful F. Scott Fitzgerald, and his Zelda was perfect, too. Corey
Stoll as Hemingway was utterly beautiful. Stoll just captured that
handsome, intellectual, almost douchey attitude and paired that with
the angry drinking that is so characteristic of the writer. Then into
Picasso and so on. Each 20's representation was just hands down
amazing; though, I wish we could have seen T.S. Eliot for more than a
second . . . beggars can't be choosers.

Past those 20's actors, I feel like
the modern cast did just as well. I have never felt more sorry and
emotional for Owen Lewis, and I have never hated Rachel McAdams so
much in my life. They played their respective parts so damn well.
Everyone did. Of course, Woody Allen is the director, and no matter
how much people may hate his previous works, everyone seems to
understand how well he can bring out the best in his actors. Plus, he
sure can direct. Background things, foreground things, this movie has
them all.
I had a lot of favorite parts in this
movie, but the end is the best because that is when you find out what
happens with the detective – just the cheese on the macaroni.
Midnight is just a perfect
little realization story that has a lot of ground today and for the
future. It'll be one of those movies you can show your kids, and they
will still be able to get something out of it. If you haven't seen
this film, go see it. I highly doubt you will be disappointed. Unless
you hate good movies.
